Black cats and Broken Mirrors
There are many superstitions about bad luck and good luck in my hometown. Actually, I am not superstitious, but I also do not want to test superstitious. For instance, people in my hometown always do not step on a manhole cover because it will make you bad luck. unfortunately, If I step on a manhole cover ,I will call another person who beside me to hurt me softly. So, the bad luck comes true and there is no bad luck next.
Fascinating account, Xiaodong! I can see that you are indeed affected by superstition. The proof of that is your asking a friend to hit you (gently) after you step on a manhole cover. Nice honesty in owning up to that.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting! I have never heard the superstition that is stepping on the manhole cover. Actually I walked across on it when I was in Japan.
ReplyDeleteYou are very lucky, because of you are a Japanese girl.
DeleteYour story amused me. I've never heard it, so I stepped on the manhole cover when I went to China...
ReplyDeleteNext time, I will together with you, and let you know how to pass bad luck...
